Sleep during pregnancy
Sleep during pregnancy is certainly as changeable as moods for some women… Isn't it, ladies?! And yet, rest is absolutely essential when you're carrying a new life for 9 long months. But even though you dream of a good, restorative night's sleep, it doesn't always go to plan…
Sleep during pregnancy: rest is more than necessary!
A good night's sleep is important for everyone, but even more so when you're pregnant. Carrying a new life demands an enormous amount of energy from a woman. Some studies on the subject have shown that a pregnant woman needs at least 6 hours of rest per night — particularly during the final month of pregnancy. Failing that, the risk of complications increases.
However, it's not that straightforward, as women know all too well… Strange dreams, difficulty finding a comfortable position, aches and pains, insomnia, endless trips to the loo. In short, disrupted nights — especially during the 1st and 3rd trimesters.

How to improve sleep during pregnancy?
Every problem has a solution! Here are a few tips for better sleep during pregnancy:
- Take a nap during the day, between 20 and 30 minutes;
- Use a 2-in-1 nursing pillow, which will allow you to support your bump and improve your sleeping position — helping you sleep better during pregnancy;
- Take magnesium supplements to help with the anxiety that is often common during these 9 months;
- Try homeopathy if you're struggling to get to sleep.
Make the most of it before baby arrives…
Even if your nights aren't always perfect and restful, at least they exist for now. Oops! Well, we're not saying you'll never sleep again once your little miracle is here. But… you will almost certainly face a few difficult nights ahead.
