Pregnancy books
Pregnancy books are a wonderful way to pass the time once life offers us the chance to become parents. Whether for learning or reminiscing, a pregnancy book can serve many different purposes.
Becoming parents — a joyful event
Pregnancy is the first milestone in our lives as parents. Indeed, beyond the fact that we're not playing a game of "which came first, the chicken or the egg", we are at the very beginning of a major upheaval. For some, it is an extension of oneself, but above all, a new little creature who is about to change everything around you.
We can say all we like that we have nine months to prepare, but in truth we are never truly ready!
As much as we'd like to be reassuring, it is a genuine life change. So how do we go about anticipating what might happen? As it turns out, once again, there is no miracle recipe for overcoming the challenges that lie ahead!
Nevertheless, we always have a few little tips up our sleeve, starting with reading. Indeed, looking into the subject is a marvellous idea! Pregnancy books can be found in every bookshop — so pop in and have a browse, because it is well worth the trip!
The pregnancy books to read
Among them, there are landmark books from this period that are well worth flicking through to gain some enlightenment. No, we are not born knowing everything, and motherhood is not always instinctive. Being able to learn from and draw on the wisdom of those who came before us is actually rather good advice. Beyond teaching us certain principles, there may also be moments when we are simply looking for reassurance. In this kind of adventure — where sometimes baby arrives without so much as a warning — it is sometimes good to start certain reads.
Books on development or education would therefore be essential reading. Psychology, how to find one's place within this new trio, how to not lose sight of the other person, nor of ourselves. We can also read up on the foods that are good to eat, or on names to consider and their meanings.
Finally, depending on our inclinations, we can also find books on religion and motherhood. In short, 9 months (or thereabouts) to do plenty of reading and research — or simply to revisit what we already know.
The pregnancy book to write
And if reading isn't quite your thing, we have another style of book that everyone can get on board with! What if we created our own pregnancy memory book? Telling the father-to-be, your emotions, the first kicks, or any other moments you'd love to hold onto forever. A bit like explaining to baby everything that happened before they were able to come into the world and take their first breath!
That's when the search begins for the most beautiful journal. Don't hesitate to look everywhere to find the perfect one for your little one! It is a gift of such great value that you'll love spending hours on it. You can divide it into several sections for each theme.
One section for printed photos, month by month, on the same date if possible. Another for all the advice you'd like to give, or to share your fears. Or indeed, all the changes — both of mind and body.
This pregnancy book can be transformed into a development journal to give to your child when they experience the joy of becoming a parent themselves.
