Finger food: polenta and green asparagus cubes with goat's cheese (from 10 months)

Here is a recipe that should appeal to parents practising baby-led weaning — but not exclusively! Children from 10 months can enjoy these delicious little cubes. Ingredients:

  • 6 asparagus spears
  • 10g goat's cheese
  • 40g polenta semolina
  • 10cl water
  • 10cl goat's milk (or cow's milk)

Method:

  1. Trim the asparagus to remove the tough root end. Then place the asparagus in a steamer basket and steam for 15 minutes;
  2. Prepare the polenta by bringing the water and milk to the boil;
  3. Add the polenta little by little, stirring continuously;
  4. Once all the polenta has been added, continue stirring for a further 3 minutes;
  5. Turn off the heat and add the goat's cheese, broken into small pieces, to the polenta;
  6. Once the asparagus is cooked, cut off the tips and set them aside;
  7. Add the asparagus to the polenta and cheese mixture;
  8. Pour the mixture into small moulds, or, if you don't have any, ice cube trays;
  9. Press the asparagus tips gently into the tops of the cubes;
  10. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour;
  11. And they're ready!

  3. After 5 minutes, add the potato and aubergine;
